Onder het genot van een stralend zonnetje, warm gezang en dito gitaarklanken vond de tweede live schildersessie van kunstenaarsgroep MEERKunst plaats in het Cultuurcafé in Noordwijk.
Zes leden van MEERKunst gingen het spel van compositie en kleur aan met de Engelse muzikant Glen Addy als levend model. Glen kon zich vrijuit bewegen en ondertussen zijn prachtige liedjes ten gehore brengen. Hij begeleidde zichzelf hierbij op de gitaar.
Glen gaf een benefietoptreden om geld in te zamelen voor Alphe d’HuZes, bestemd voor onderzoek naar kanker en naar verbetering van de kwaliteit van leven van mensen met kanker. Zijn vader is vorig jaar overleden en Glen wil als eerbetoon aan hem zes keer de legendarische berg beklimmen. Na twee uur tekenen en schilderen waren er al flinke resultaten te zien. De continue beweging vormde een extra uitdaging voor de schilders en tekenaars.
Joke C. Bos tekende een zanger die bezield de ruimte inkijkt waarbij zij het gevoel van de middag in het portret wilde vangen.
Luc Mens gebruikte een schilderij van de Noordwijks duinen dat hij al eerder pleinair geschilderd heeft als achtergrond. Hij verbeeldde een ansichtkaart met groeten uit Noordwijk waarbij Glen als een jonge tiener de wereld intrekt.
Ans Vianen pakte Glen ten voeten uit, terwijl Wil van der Niet koos voor een monumentale close-up op een redelijk klein doek.
Mariska de Kok maakte net als Joke C. ook een tekening en profil en het intieme kleine schilderij van Hans Berkhout kon men al op verre afstand herkennen.
Het was een bijzonder schouwspel. Sommige bezoekers van het Cultuurcafé kwamen al vroeg in de middag kijken maar waren zo nieuwsgierig dat zij aan het eind van de middag zelfs terugkwamen om de resultaten te bekijken. Het optreden van Glen daarbij opgeteld was het weer een geslaagd evenement dat voor herhaling vatbaar is. U hoeft daar niet lang op te wachten. Elke laatste zaterdagmiddag van de maand is de kunstenaarsgroep MEERKunst live aan het werk in het Cultuurcafé, De Keuvel 1 in Noordwijk. Zij zien u graag.
